Shopify Quiz and Klaviyo: How to Connect Them and What to Send
A quiz collects email addresses and answers. Klaviyo sends email. This guide covers how subscribers get from one to the other, what data comes with them, and where the follow-up emails should be sent from.

Why Connect a Quiz to Klaviyo
A quiz produces two things your email platform does not have: new subscribers, and what each one told you about themselves.
Connecting the quiz to Klaviyo puts those subscribers on a list as they sign up, so they receive your campaigns and flows without a manual export.
What you can do after that depends on how much of the quiz data arrives with them.
What Can Sync
Quiz apps send one of two levels of data to Klaviyo.
The first level is the contact: the email address, the phone number if you collect one, and marketing consent. This is enough to add the subscriber to a list and start a welcome flow.
The second level is the answers, sent as profile properties or events. This is what lets a Klaviyo flow branch on what the shopper said.
Before you choose an app, check which level it sends. Two apps that both list a Klaviyo integration can differ on exactly this.
Two Ways to Follow Up
You can send quiz follow-ups from Klaviyo or from the quiz app.
Sending from Klaviyo keeps all your email in one place. It needs the answers to arrive in Klaviyo, and it needs you to build a flow with a branch for each result.
Sending from the quiz app keeps the emails next to the answers, so nothing has to be mapped across. It means the quiz follow-up lives in a second tool.
Many stores use both: the quiz app sends the result and the answer-based sequence, and Klaviyo carries on with campaigns and the wider lifecycle flows.
How AISalesQ Works With Klaviyo
AISalesQ syncs new quiz subscribers to a Klaviyo list in real time. It sends the contact: the email address, the phone number where one was collected, and the subscription to that list.
The answer-based follow-up runs in AISalesQ itself. Its email automation already holds each subscriber's answers and result, so the sequence branches on them without any setup in Klaviyo.
So the split is simple. AISalesQ sends the emails that depend on quiz answers, and Klaviyo receives the subscriber for everything else you send. AISalesQ connects to Mailchimp in the same way.
Set It Up
In Klaviyo, create a private API key and decide which list quiz subscribers should join. A dedicated list such as "Quiz subscribers" makes them easy to segment later.
In AISalesQ, open Settings and find Marketing integrations. Choose Klaviyo, paste the API key, load your audiences, select the list and connect.
Take your own quiz with a test address and confirm the profile appears on the list in Klaviyo. If the status shows that action is needed, the key has usually been revoked or lacks access to lists.
Avoid Sending Twice
Once subscribers reach Klaviyo, any flow triggered by that list will start. If AISalesQ is also sending a welcome email, the shopper gets two.
Pick one sender for each job. Let the quiz app send the result and the answer-based sequence. In Klaviyo, either leave the quiz list out of your welcome flow or delay that flow until the quiz sequence has finished.
Keep consent consistent as well. A shopper who did not tick the marketing checkbox in the quiz should not be sent marketing from either tool.
What to Send
The first email is the result, sent soon after the quiz, with the recommended products and the reason they fit.
The next emails should reflect the answers: how to use the product for the need the shopper described, proof from customers like them, and a reminder if they have not bought.
Stop the sequence when the shopper orders. What to send after someone finishes your quiz has the full five-email plan with timing and stop rules.
Measure Which Emails Sell
Klaviyo reports revenue for its own emails. It does not know which quiz a subscriber came from unless that is sent to it.
To judge the quiz, look at orders from quiz subscribers as a group. AISalesQ's revenue attribution, available from the Growth plan, matches paid orders to quiz subscribers and shows orders and revenue per quiz.
If you are building the whole sequence from scratch, how to build a quiz funnel puts these pieces in order.

Common questions
Questions about Shopify quizzes and Klaviyo.
What merchants ask when they connect a quiz to their email platform.
Yes. Most Shopify quiz apps list a Klaviyo integration. In AISalesQ you paste a Klaviyo private API key in Settings, choose a list, and new quiz subscribers sync to it.
The subscriber's email address, their phone number if one was collected, and their subscription to the list you chose. Emails that depend on quiz answers are sent from AISalesQ.
Not with AISalesQ. It sends follow-up emails itself. Connecting Klaviyo is optional, for stores that want quiz subscribers in their existing lists.
Yes. Mailchimp connects the same way: an API key and an audience, with new subscribers synced as they sign up.
Choose one tool to send the welcome. Either exclude the quiz list from your Klaviyo welcome flow, or turn off the first email in the quiz app.
It helps. A dedicated list lets you segment them, exclude them from flows that would overlap, and compare how they buy against other subscribers.
