Start Before the Rush
Black Friday falls on 27 November in 2026, and Cyber Monday on 30 November. Most stores plan their discount and leave the rest to the week itself. The stores that do well start earlier, with the list, the offer and the emails ready before the first ad runs.
The ten ideas below are ordered by when to start them. Each one works on any Shopify store. Where AISalesQ can do the job, we say how, and where it cannot, we say that too.

1. Build Your Early-Access List Now
The cheapest Black Friday sale goes to people who already asked to hear from you. Start collecting an early-access list in October and promise subscribers first access to the sale.
A quiz is a good way to do it, because the shopper gets something useful today. Someone who finds their skin type or coffee roast now, and leaves an email, is a subscriber who already knows what to buy when the sale opens. How to grow your list with a quiz lead magnet covers the setup.
2. Launch a Gift Finder Quiz
A large share of holiday shoppers are buying for someone else, and a product grid does not help them. A gift finder asks about the recipient, the occasion and the budget, and returns two or three gifts that fit.
Launch it in early November so it is tested before the traffic arrives, and link it from your homepage, navigation and holiday emails. How to build a gift finder quiz for Shopify has the questions and the mapping.
3. Replace the Generic Popup
Every store shows a "10% off" popup in November. Shoppers close them by reflex. A popup that opens a short quiz gives them a reason to stay: a recommendation, and an offer tied to it.
In AISalesQ the quiz can open as a popup on the page types you choose, immediately, after a delay, on scroll, or on exit intent on desktop. Exit intent is a sensible choice for Black Friday, because it only interrupts shoppers who are already leaving.
4. Give Each Shopper Their Own Code
A sitewide Black Friday code is on coupon sites within hours, and it discounts orders that would have happened anyway. A personal, single-use code is harder to leak and easier to measure.
When a shopper finishes an AISalesQ quiz and leaves their email, the app can create a real Shopify discount code for them, show it on the result page next to the recommended products, and send it in their result email. Quiz discounts explains how it works.
5. Segment Your Sale Emails by What Shoppers Want
One Black Friday email to the whole list treats a new runner and a marathon runner the same way. If your quiz recorded what each subscriber wants, use it: send each segment the products that match their answers.
You do not need many segments. Three or four, based on the main quiz result, make every email more relevant than a single blast. AISalesQ's email automation sends emails that branch on quiz answers, and the app can sync subscribers to Klaviyo or Mailchimp if you send your campaigns from there.
6. Plan a Five-Email Sequence
A sale that lasts four days needs more than one email, and fewer than ten. Five is a workable plan.
The teaser, about a week before: tell subscribers the sale is coming and what it covers. Early access, the day before Black Friday: open the sale to subscribers only. Launch, on Black Friday morning: the sale is open to everyone. Cyber Monday: the last day, with what is still in stock. Thank-you, after the sale: no offer, just thanks and how to get the most from what they bought.
Stop sending sale emails to anyone who has already ordered. Nothing makes a customer regret a purchase faster than three more discount emails.

7. Black Friday Email Subject Lines That Fit Each Email
Write the subject line for the job each email does. Some examples you can adapt:
Teaser: "Your Black Friday list is ready" or "Something for you on 27 November". Early access: "You're in: the sale starts now, for subscribers" or "Before everyone else". Launch: "Black Friday is on: your picks are inside" or "The sale is live". Cyber Monday: "Last day: your matches are still in stock" or "Ends tonight". Thank-you: "Thank you, here's how to get the most from your order".
Keep them short, say what is inside, and avoid capitals and stacks of emoji. If you know the shopper's quiz result, a subject that mentions it ("Your routine for dry skin, now on sale") will usually earn more opens than a generic one.
8. Raise Order Value With Bundles and Routines
Black Friday shoppers are ready to buy, so help them buy the complete set. A routine or bundle quiz recommends products that work together, such as a cleanser, serum and moisturiser, or a grinder, beans and filter papers.
Price the bundle so it is clearly better than buying the pieces separately, and show it as the result, not as an upsell after checkout. The six types of ecommerce quiz covers routine and bundle quizzes.
9. Prepare the Store for Buyers, Not Browsers
Before the sale, check what a buyer needs to decide quickly: shipping cut-off dates for the holidays, your returns window, and gift options. Put them on product pages and on quiz result pages, where the decision happens.
Test checkout with a discount code on a phone. Check that sold-out products drop out of quiz results, so a shopper is never recommended something they cannot buy.
10. Measure What Each Idea Earned
After Cyber Monday, look at which ideas produced orders, not just traffic. Compare orders from quiz subscribers with orders from your other channels, and check which emails in the sequence sold.
AISalesQ's revenue attribution, from the Growth plan, matches paid orders to the quiz and email that led to them. Note what worked while it is fresh, because the plan for next November starts in September.
A Simple Timeline
October: start the early-access list and launch your lead-magnet quiz. Early November: launch the gift finder, switch the popup to a quiz, and set up personal codes. Mid November: write and schedule the five emails and segment them by quiz result. Week of Black Friday: test checkout and shipping messages, then send the teaser. 26 November to 30 November: early access, launch and Cyber Monday emails. December: thank-you email and review what each idea earned.

Questions about Black Friday marketing.
What Shopify merchants ask when they plan BFCM.
Black Friday is on Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is on 30 November.
Start building your list in October, launch quizzes and offers in early November, and schedule your emails by mid-November, so the week of the sale is for sending, not building.
About five across the sale: a teaser, early access, the launch, a Cyber Monday last chance and a thank-you. Stop sending sale emails to anyone who has already ordered.
It keeps working after the sale. A gift finder or product finder built in November still recommends products and collects subscribers in December and beyond, and the answers make every later email more relevant.
Personal, single-use codes are harder to share on coupon sites and easier to measure. AISalesQ can create one for each shopper who finishes a quiz.
Short ones that say what is inside, such as "The sale is live" or "Last day: your picks are still in stock". If you know the shopper's quiz result, mention it in the subject.
