Skincare Quiz for Shopify: How to Build a Skin Quiz That Sells
Skincare is the category where shoppers most often do not know what to buy. A skin quiz asks what they do know and turns it into a routine. This is how to build one on Shopify.

Why Skincare Stores Use Quizzes
A skincare shopper usually knows how their skin feels and what bothers them. They often do not know which of your products that points to. A product grid asks them to work it out alone.
A skin quiz closes that gap. It asks about the skin, not about the products, and returns a short routine. It is the most common kind of product recommendation quiz for a reason.
The Questions to Ask
Skin type: dry, oily, combination, normal or sensitive. Describe each in a few words, because many shoppers are unsure of theirs.
Main concern: for example dryness, breakouts, dullness, fine lines or redness. Let shoppers choose one or two.
Sensitivity: whether products often sting or cause redness.
Current routine: nothing, the basics, or several steps. This decides how many products to recommend.
Preferences, if your range needs them: fragrance-free, vegan, or a budget band.
Five questions is plenty. Ask only those that change what you would recommend.
Turn Answers Into a Routine
A skincare result is usually a set of products that work together, such as a cleanser, a treatment and a moisturiser.
Score-based results suit this. Each answer adds points to a profile such as "dry and sensitive", and the profile with the most points selects a result page that holds the routine you built for it. With simpler ranges, attach products straight to each answer.
Keep the number of profiles small. Four to six routines that you have checked carefully serve shoppers better than twenty you have not.
Build the Result Page
Name the profile and explain it in a sentence, so the shopper sees that the result reflects their answers.
Show the routine in the order it is used, with one line on what each product does for the concern they chose. Let them add each product to cart from the page.
Match the size of the routine to the shopper. Someone with no routine today is more likely to buy two products than five.
Be Careful With Claims
A skin quiz recommends cosmetic products. It does not diagnose. Word your questions and results accordingly, and avoid suggesting that a product treats a medical condition.
For shoppers who describe a persistent or severe problem, say that a dermatologist is the right person to ask.
Follow Up
Skincare takes weeks to show results and is bought again when it runs out, so the follow-up matters more than in most categories.
Send the routine by email straight away. Follow with how to use it, what to expect in the first weeks, and a reminder for shoppers who have not bought. AISalesQ sends these from its email automation using the answers it already holds. What to send after someone finishes your quiz gives the timing.
Set It Up on Shopify
Install a quiz app and start from a beauty template if there is one. AISalesQ has beauty quiz templates you can adapt, and picture choice questions for showing skin types.
Place the quiz on your homepage, on your main skincare collection and in the navigation. How to add a quiz to your Shopify store walks through the steps, and revenue attribution shows what the quiz sold once it is running.
