  1. 01Create a new email template and name it
  2. 02Add rows and content blocks in the builder
  3. 03Write the subject line shoppers see in their inbox
  4. 04Save the template as Active so automations can send it

Before you start

Every email AISalesQ sends after a quiz starts as a template on the Emails page. A template doesn't send on its own. You choose it as a step in an automation.

Start a new template

  1. 1

    Go to Emails

In the app menu, click Emails. The Email templates page lists each template with its Subject line, Status and Last updated date.

The Emails page: four active email templates with subject lines, New template and Import
  2. 2

    Create the template

Click New template in the top-right corner. If you have no templates yet, click Build first email instead. The template is created straight away, named with today's date, and the email builder opens full screen.

Build your email

  1. 1

    Name the template

Click the name at the top left of the builder, next to the pencil icon, and type a name you'll recognise later.

The template name being edited at the top left of the builder, next to the Active toggle
  2. 2

    Add a row

In the left panel, open Rows and click a layout, for example 1 column. The row is added at the bottom of the email. You can also drag a layout to a set position.

The Rows tab: Section and row layouts from 1 column to 2 columns (2 equal, Left wide, Right wide, 9 / 3, 3 / 9)
  3. 3

    Add content blocks

Open Content and drag blocks into the row, for example Title, Paragraph and Button. Click a block on the canvas to change its text and style.

The Content tab: Shopify blocks (Product, Quiz products, Collection) and Text blocks
  4. 4

    Write the subject line

Open Settings and scroll down to Metadata. Type the subject line in Subject. This is what shoppers see in their inbox.

Settings scrolled to Metadata, with the Subject and Preheader filled in
  5. 5

    Preview the email

Click the eye icon (Preview email) to see the email on Desktop and Mobile. Close the preview to keep editing.

Email preview on Desktop, with the Desktop and Mobile switch and Export
  6. 6

Set it to Active and save

Switch the toggle in the toolbar from Inactive to Active, then click Save. You'll see the message Template saved.

The builder toolbar: the template name, the Active toggle switched on, and Save on the right

Manage your templates

Back on Emails, each row has three icons in the Action column:

IconWhat it does
Edit (pencil)Opens the template in the builder. You can also click the template's name.
Duplicate (copy)Makes a copy with "(copy)" after the name. The copy always starts as Inactive.
Delete (bin)Deletes the template after you confirm. This can't be undone.

Use Search emails… to find a template by its name or subject. The status filter shows only Active or only Inactive templates, and the date filter uses the Last updated date.

Copy a template to another store

  1. 1

    Export the template

In the builder, open Export in the toolbar and choose Export JSON. A file ending in .email.json downloads.

The Export menu in the builder toolbar: Export HTML and Export JSON
  2. 2

Import it on the other store

In the other store's AISalesQ app, go to Emails and click Import. Click Browse files, choose the file, then click Import. The builder opens on the new template.

The Import dialog on the Emails page: drop a JSON template export or Browse files, then Import

The same Export menu has Export HTML, which downloads the email as an HTML file.
